Abstract

"Pressure vessels used in pressure leaching and pressure oxidation processes in the mining industry are often lined with acid resistant brick and membrane systems. Although the options available when it comes to selecting materials and linings designs for these vessels appear somewhat limited there are, nevertheless? several choices which must be made in order to successfully design, manufacture and construct these linings. These choices require careful evaluation of materials properties which include, among others, thermal conductivity, thermal expansion, chemical swell, and modulus of elasticity, as well as a variety of construction methods. Some of the options available, and some of the means of evaluating them objective of this discussion."
