Abstract
In 1973, the Subcommittee on Contracting Practices, U. S. National Committee on Tunneling Technology, National Academy of Sciences, under the able chairmanship of A. A. The resulting report, entitled "Better Contracting for Underground Construction", was submitted by the Subcommittee to the National Academy of Sciences, which approved its publication in 1974 by the National Technical Information Service. It may be obtained from that Service at Springfield, Virginia, 22161, as Accession No. PB-236 973. It was recognized-during the course of the study that while contracting practices and owner-contractor relationships were the
