Abstract

Axial compression capacities of bored cast in situ piles as per Indian and International Standards are compared in this paper. Bored cast in-situ piles resting on soil and rock are considered for capacity assessment comparison. The standards considered for comparison are Indian Standards namely IS 2911-Part 1-Sec 2:2010 and IRC 78, International Standards like AASHTO LRFD Design-2017, API 2A WSD, BS 8004:2015 & EN 1997: Part 1:2014. The end bearing mobilization limits as proposed by various standards and their influence on longer piles in cohesive and cohesionless soils are discussed.
