Abstract

Price, lead-time, efficiency, availability, maintainability. These are all the factors involved in the selection of components for a conveyor system in a mining operation. Historically, the decision-makers do not consider all these factors together when it is time to procure the equipment needed to assemble a conveyor system. The Total Cost of Ownership approach enables an operation to attain superior efficiency and desirable maintenance practices, all while minimizing the total cost to operate and maximizing the return on investment.
