Abstract

"Unwanted, dynamic interaction of adjacent blastholes is a well-recognized phenomenon. Timingschemes and products are selected to minimize adverse effects. Large diameter, surface blasting is less prone to dead pressing and other disruptions which commonly plague underground and construction blasters. However, several lines of evidence suggest that fragmentation may be compromised as a result of powder column disruption in large diameter shooting as well."
