Deep Caisson Foundations In China ? Synopsis

This paper principally deals with the application of caisson foundation in the Chinese bridge building industry, the different types of caisson foundation adopted, and their spheres of application. Caisson foundation has been used and speedily developed for bridge works in New China, and a number of new innovations have been made in its design. Especially in deep water foundation, the Nanjing Bridge over Changjiang has attained one of the deepest bridge foundations in the world.
