Abstract
"Unique blasting problems during reconstruction and expansion of 100 year old buildings toaccommodate gambling. Located on steep mountainous terrain and linked by narrowroadways, the towns of Central City and Black Hawk challenged blasters to exceptionalmeasures in order to control over_break, vibration, public exposure and damage to thecharacter of these historic mining towns. Utilities were also upgraded to fit demands of asmuch as 800% volume change in one year."
