Abstract
The Committee's proposed standards establish definitions and
guidelines for the reporting of Exploration Information, Mineral
Resources and Mineral Reserves in Canada and are identified
as the "CIM Standards" and referred to as such hereafter
in this document. To provide additional clarification to Qualified
Persons (QPs), guidelines have been included with the
respective definitions. The CIM Standards are applicable to
all minerals including industrial minerals, diamonds and other
gemstones. Reserve definitions for bitumen, natural gas and
oil are not included in these Standards. The CIM Standards
are not intended to cover mineral inventory estimates that
will be reported to government agencies.
