Abstract
Ceramic clays of the Prairie Provinces range in age from
Lower Cretaceous to Pleistocene and Recent. Two significant
ceramic clay horizons are the Paleocene Willo wbunch Member
of the Ravenscrag Formation in Southern Saskatchewan and
the Upper Cretaceous Whitemud Formation, which is found in
Saskatchewan and Alberta. The Willowbunch Member is
worked at one locale in Saskatchewan; the Whitemud Formation
is worked at several locales in Saskatchewan and Alberta.
Bentonite operations are found at Morden in Manitoba, Rosalind
and Onoway in Alberta, and Wilcox in Saskatchewan.
