Abstract

Paper presented at the 28th International Geological Congress, Washington DC, July 1989 (International geochemical mapping sessions). The objective of the programme is to establish and maintain a nationally consistent geochemical drainage database. Towards this end systematic surveys have been conducted since 1973. To date more than 200 surveys have been completed to the required standards, representing 180 000 sites and covering about 2 100 000 km2 throughout Canada
