Abstract
The paper discussed the mechanics of an environmental audit. Commonly encountered problems and situations are discussed and guidelines are given to aid prudent decision makers in evaluating audit results. The merits and benefits of an external view will be given. The paper will highlight the reduction of risk through pre-acquisition and operational audits.
