Abstract

Sooner or later, we'll encounter a subordinate, peer, or boss that will test our management skills to the limit. The chances are good that our formal educations have not fully prepared us to effectively handle the situation, and through trial-by-fire, we have learned that the management of people is often as much an art as it is a science. Assertiveness - as opposed to agressiveness - is basically positive persuation. Assertive management techniques can help combine the art and science of managment to sell ideas, accomplish goals, direct the workforce, and generally promote the corporate - as well as our own - objectives
