Application Of Several Soil Improvement Methods In China

China is one of the countries with comparatively wide distribution of soft soil. In the wake of the rapid developement in the national economy and construction, the improvement technique of soft soil foundation has been perfected gradually. At the present, an integrated system of soft soil improvement has formed, features of such a system are shown by the variety of improvement methods, the complement of theoretical study to project practice. This paper summarizes mainly the following methods: lime column, vertical drain, vibroflotation and dynamic consolidation.
