Abstract

This U.S. Bureau of Mines report provides detailed information on worldwide alumina production capacity by plant and country. The information was compiled from a variety of domestic and international sources and was based on information available to the Bureau through December 31, 1993. Capacity data represent announced installed and planned capacities and do not necessarily reflect a Bureau of Mines judgment of actual plant operating levels or timing of planned expansions, The year-end capacity is the ?nameplate" capacity or estimated production capacity, whichever is larger.
