Abstract

US 4,189,461-Hydrometallurgical extraction of values from a sulfide ore of copper, silver, nickel, cobalt, molybdenum or zinc Ore is leached in a first stage with an aqueous nitric acid leach liquor and In a second stage the preleached mineral is oxidized with nitrogen dioxide to enable the metal values to be solubilized. The second-stage leach liquor is routed to the first stage, while first-stage liquor is subjected to electrolysis or other treatment for values This patent is a continuation- in-part of US Patent No. 4,132,758, dated Jan 2, 1979.
