Abstract

This paper describes the results of VLF-EM test surveys, using the Ronka EM-16 equipment, over a selection of environments in Australia and Papua.Using comparisons with known geology, drilling information and other geophysical work it is shown that the maximum depth of penetration of the method is about 100 ft but is considerably less than this in most areas. The author believes the method could aid in geological mapping and provide a useful adjunct to aeromagnetic surveying in some areas.
