A New Approach To The Management And Execution Of Major Public Work Projects

INTRODUCTION The Southern California Rapid Transit District has commenced Preliminary Engineering for an 18 mile Metro Rail Project. This initial line will consist of approximate 36 miles of single track tunnel and 16 subsurface stations. The estimated cost of $1.2 Billion in 1978 dollars, places it in the category of a major public works project.
