Abstract

Second, or retreat mhng with Mobile Roof Supports (MRS) has now been part of coal mining in the United States for a decade Their utilization has evolved into mining applications which vary in seam heights from 38 inches to 170 inches, and overburden depths from outcrop to beyond 1200 feet This paper will detail the pillaring plans, lift sequences, and mnchky utilized in these operations and the rational for the plans A comparison of the current productivities achieved will be outlined
