Presented is a method of continuously producing very narrowly sized particle streams. Currently Sieve Cascadography is a batch method of analyzing particle shape - a form of particle chromatography. This paper introduces and analyzes the continuous Sieve Cascadograph, a device that enables a series of narrowly sized particle fractions to be produced continuously. Properly designed, the continuous Sieve Cascadograph will produce many product streams of particles with as little as one percent difference in particle size within a given size fraction - an order of magnitude better than existing technology permits. By varying operating conditions, the size of the output fractions may be varied. |
