A rule-based control system was developed for a 7-foot Hydrocone crusher with automatic set regulation, based on operating data collected in the field. When implemented in a plant PLC, the system was found to behave as predicted. Benefits included a significant reduction in the frequency of control actions, the incidence of power overloads, and the standard deviation of feeder speed, whilst maintaining crusher performance. |
