Title
Size reduction/liberation model of grinding including multiple classes of composite particles
Author Choi, W. Z. ; Adel, G. T. ; Yoon, R. H.
Society / Organization SME
Summary / Abstract A model describing size reduction and mineral liberation during grinding has been extended to include multiple classes of composite particles. The majority of the model parameters have been directly determined using computerized image processing equipment to analyze the products from batch grinding tests. A coarse-grained sphalerite ore from Tennessee, representing a nearly ideal binary mixture of sphulerite and dolomite, has been used to experimentally validate the model for the case of dry batch grinding. In all cases, excellent agreement has been observed between the model predictions and the experimental results.
